Scientists fear no-deal Brexit as deadline looms

After leaving the European Union on the 31st of January 2020 the final stages of Brexit are set to be complete on the 1st of January 2021. Brexit is set to become a reality with no clear details on the final outlook.

Details of NWUPC's suppliers supply chains, the impact that Brexit will have on their ability to service our commercial arrangements and how they will be affected are still unclear. NWUPC are producing weekly updates on the details we do have by underrtaking a risk appraisal at framework level across the portfolio of agreements that are available to members and categorised them as high, medium or low.  More details can be found on our Brexit Pages.

Science Magazine have written a great article featuring Helen Dodd-Williams, NWUPC's Head of Strategic Procurement detailing how research funding, international collaboration, and supply chains of lab stocks could be effected through the disruption of Brexit. Covering data sharing and privacy, customs issues and work visa's it's an informative article about problems the scientific world could face after the 1st of January 2021.
