Getting to University Place

 
 

The Conference will be held at University Place, part of The University of Manchester (full address - University Place, 176 Oxford Rd, Manchester M13 9PL). All workshops will be held, along with the supplier exhibition in the same building. University Place is number 37 on the Campus Guide map, which you can find here.

Directions via car

*PLEASE BE AWARE* the multi Storey NCP car park on Booth Street East - postcode M13 9SS is closed due to a fire this week.

Parking is charged at:

  • Up to 2 hours – £2.50
  • Up to 4 hours - £4.50
  • Up to 9 hours - £8

Please note: drivers heading into the city on Oxford Road are no longer able to travel past Hathersage Road between 6am and 9pm, seven days a week. Instead you'll need to reroute, by turning right on to Hathersage Road before continuing your journey along Upper Brook Street.

To accommodate the permanent changes to Oxford Road, Upper Brook Street has been improved to provide drivers with an alternative route. Local access to Oxford Road will be maintained from adjoining roads and signage in place to help everyone navigate the area.

Directions via train

It's easy to travel by train to The University of Manchester due to the close proximity to three large rail stations. Located close to both the Piccadilly main line station and Oxford Road train station, with Victoria train station a little further away. Walking from

Taxis can be caught in front of all 3 stations.

Travel by air

If you plan to travel by air to The University of Manchester, the nearest airport is Manchester Airport. It is located about 10 miles (16km) south of the city centre, about 30 minutes from the University. The airport has a number of transport links to the city:

  • Train – The airport's two terminals are linked directly to the city centre by a fast, frequent 24-hour train link to both Piccadilly and Oxford Road stations.
  • Taxi – A taxi from the airport to the University will cost approximately £20.
  • Bus – Local buses also run to the Oxford Road and Sackville Street areas of the campus.
