NWUPC are looking for a new Category Manager to join our team, the position is part-time (17.5 hours per week) to work with us at North Western Universities Purchasing Consortium (NWUPC) Ltd.

Offering a highly competative salary of £35,000 - £40,000 FTE (£17,500 - £20,000) with a benefits package circa £5000

North Western Universities Purchasing Consortium (NWUPC) is a not for profit organisation owned by its member universities in the North West. Our primary objective is “to provide a structure for higher education institutions mutually to secure value for money in matters relating to the procurement of goods and services”.  We achieve this by supporting and delivering collaborative procurement so that our members have compliant and effective routes to market.

We are seeking to appoint a part-time Category Manager to join our Contracting Team.  The organisation’s ongoing successes have created the opportunity for growth and an additional team member to join us at an exciting point in our procurement journey.

The HE sector is a varied and diverse community to work in and the post holder will gain exposure to a wide range of projects across spend areas both goods and services.  You will deliver Framework Agreements that add value to our membership; delivering costs savings whilst driving benefits and ensuring an excellent standard of compliance with statutory legislation.

The role holder will

  • develop category strategies
  • be responsible for delivering category strategies working in collaboration with stakeholders across the North West region as well as nationally
  • be responsible for the procurement process within category areas
  • be responsible for supplier relationship management within category areas
  • be responsible for stakeholder engagement within category areas
  • deliver excellent customer service to our members

You must be MCIPS qualified (or have achieved NVQ level 6 in Procurement or Supply Chain Management) and have public sector procurement experience.
