NWUPC Annual Conference Important Update

Dear Valued Member,

I regret to inform you that we have taken the decision to cancel the NWUPC Annual Conference which was due to be held on 16 June 2020 in Manchester.

The latest official information is that the Covid-19 virus is likely to peak in 12-14 weeks – which is when our event was to be held.  I have discussed this with our SMT and our Chair, it is our opinion that suppliers will not book on to the event and that you, our members, will not register in any great numbers.  Reduced numbers of delegates have already been seen at similar events falling over the last week or so. There is also of course the risk that key members of the NWUPC team or speakers may be unwell at that time.

I know that this will be disappointing news for you all, the conference is the highlight of our year and we look forward to sharing the event with our members. I know that a number of similar events will also be cancelled or postponed.

We want to make sure that there are still great opportunities for our members to engage with our framework suppliers – we just have to be more creative in how we make that happen. We will be putting our energy and resource into launching a fresh communications approach with our stakeholders, this initiative will be geared towards bringing our members and our suppliers closer together and sharing information. Do look out for more news on this over the coming weeks, we’ll keep you updated.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards

Julie-Ann Garton
