Commodity Group News
This is my first contribution to the e-newsletter since commencing my role as Commodity Group Co-ordinator.  Having been in post for two months now I have attended five Commodity Groups and have been very welcomed and supported, thank you to everyone who has helped me settle into my new role.

The Telecommunications Group will be appointing a new chair in the New Year as Ian Anderson is leaving Lancaster University, the group passed on thanks to Ian for the expertise, knowledge and guidance he has brought to the group. He will be a loss to the group both regionally and nationally.

A review of the Commodity Group processes will be undertaken in the New Year. This will include:
•    reviewing category areas and what they cover
•    discussing with members the name of the groups
•    member representation and meeting attendance
•    spend and framework information
•    reviewing and updating Commodity Group member information

Commodity Group information has been updated on the NWUPC Website and previous minutes, agenda’s, updates and presentations for the last academic year can now be found under the appropriate Commodity Group area along with details of the forthcoming meetings.

A new travel group is being established as a sub group of the Head of Procurement Commodity Group.  Heads of Procurement have been asked, if interested, to nominate a representative for the group and send details to me at jane.billows@manchester.ac.uk
Linda Wardle from Lancaster University has kindly volunteered to chair the group.
