Paul Tomany Steps Down as Managing Director

 

After almost 20 years as Managing Director of NWUPC Ltd, Paul Tomany stepped down from the role in February and has taken early retirement. Under his leadership, the Consortium has expanded considerably and has been at the forefront of initiatives to develop the role of procurement within the Higher Education sector. As a thank you for all his hard work and achievements, the Management Council of NWUPC Ltd held a celebratory lunch after the AGM on Friday 3rd February.

NWUPC Achieves IIP Platinum Award

 

In 2005 NWUPC achieved the Investors in People Accredited award, in 2010 we progressed and were successful in achieving the Gold award.  In 2015 IIP developed the current 6th generation award standards, and introduced a new higher level award the ‘Platinum Award’. To achieve the prestigious Platinum Award, NWUPC demonstrated good practices and outcomes in the following 9 key indicators from organisations that consistently outperform their peers.

Off-Payroll Working in the Public Sector

 

Reforms to the intermediaries legislation (commonly referred to as IR35) in order to make Universities and other public sector bodies and agencies responsible for assessing whether or not any workers who supply their services via an intermediary are due to come into effect from 6 April 2017. The changes will effect all payments made on or after that date even if pursuant to contracts entered into (or even completed) before then.
