Apple Equipment & Services Agreement

 

Higher Education Purchasing Consortium, Wales (HEPCW) has awarded a new agreement for Apple Equipment and Services. The national agreement is open to Members of APUC, HEPCW, LUPC, NEUPC, NWUPC and SUPC and was awarded on the 1st April 2016.

 

HEPCW, and a tender working party comprised of consortia members, led the tender process and will continue to review its performance in collaboration with buyers and suppliers. The agreement covers supply and support of devices running the OSX and iOS operating systems and related peripherals, software and the provision of value added services.

NWUPC Annual Conference 2016

 

The 2016 Annual Conference marks the 40th anniversary of NWUPC, so it was fitting that the event was held in Liverpool where the Consortium was established in 1976. It was one of the most successful Conferences that we have ever held; we saw more delegates attend from across our membership and the supplier exhibition sold out in record time.

The Higher Education Contracts (HEC) Database

 

The origin of the HE contracts database go back a number of years to a project funded by HEFCE (GEM) and then passed on to JISC to manage – this is what has become known as the UniBuy site. The contracts under these two bodies are due to expire in August 2016 and both HEFCE and JISC were not able to provide either further funding or contract management for the contracts database.

 

The English consortia therefore undertook the task of both specifying and obtaining a replacement for the sector in England and Wales (Scotland has alternative arrangements).  Procurement England Ltd (PEL) designated the project lead to Frank Rowell the Head of NEUPC. The four member consortia of PEL are providing the majority of the funding with contributions from TUCO and TEC.
